Remove Dark Circles Under Your Eyes – 7 Great Tips

Want to know how to remove dark circles? Dark circles treatment typically focuses on reducing the blood vessel size or quantity, thickening the skin of the eyelid (or preventing it’s thinning) and treating the hyperpigmentation around the eyelids. Dark circles under eyes are very common and almost everyone will experience them at some time, but some people may experience them more than others. For more information, please consult your local dermatologist, but here are a few ways you can treat them!

7 Ways to Remove Dark Circles Under Eyes

1. Caffeinate
Caffeine is often used to stimulate microcirculation around the eyes in eye creams. It can constrict your blood vessels, and make them less apparent, at least temporarily! A moist teabag on the skin can also help.

2. Manage Eye Allergies
Managing any allergies you have can help with inflammation around your eyes. Over-the-counter oral antihistamines or topical antihistamine eye drops.

PRO TIP – Don’t sleep in eye makeup! Be sure to remove it before heading to bed so allergens don’t cling to your makeup all night.

3. Cold Compress
Grab some frozen veggies out of the freezer, or cool off some frozen spoons in the freezer before applying them underneath your eyes. You can also try cold compress eye masks. Check out the video below to hear more about some great options!

4. Prevent Skin Damage
Prevent skin damage by using UV protecting Sunblock and wearing sunglasses with good UV protection! Sun can damage and thin the skin under your eyes.

5. Moisturize your skin
Use a moisturizing creme around your eyelids to help support and strengthen the tissue. Your dermatologist can help you find a prescription to help with this as well.

6. Get More Sleep
It is highly recommended that you get between 7-9 hours of sleep per day. Not getting enough sleep can decrease hormones levels, thin the skin, and negatively impact your blood vessels.

PRO TIP – Try to sleep in a slight incline to drain fluid away from the eyes to the rest of the body

7. Concealer
Try concealer make-up or optical diffusers to blend hyperpigmentation of eyelid skin. Consult your dermatologist about the best skin care products, Pulsed Light Therapy, or other Laser Skin Treatments
