Should Your Sunglasses Be Polarized Or Non Polarized?

What’s the difference between polarized vs non polarized sunglasses? When it comes to polarized sunglasses vs non polarized sunglasses, the biggest difference has to do with the polarized filter which blocks reflecting light coming from flat horizontal surfaces. This significantly reduces glare and can even allow you to see deeper into bodies of water.

I personally find polarized lenses to be the best sunglasses for fishing and the best sunglasses for drinking. However, if you are a pilot or look at a digital screen outside, then the polarized lens may not be the best for you.

How to do a polarized sunglasses test:
Hold a pair of sunglasses in front of a computer screen, and rotate the sunglasses while looking through the lenses. If the image of the computer screen goes black, the sunglasses are polarized.

You can also rotate one pair of polarized sunglasses against another pair of polarized lenses. If they go dark, then the lenses are polarized. If they do not, then at least one pair are non polarized sunglasses.
